U24ST Muffle Kiln: heated from four sides

Our flagship enamelling kiln model, the U24St muffle kiln encompasses everything that is right about enamelling kilns. It is heated by a complete ceramic muffle interior intertwined evenly with a continuous element wire that is totally concealed and allows for even distribution of heat throughout the complete firing chamber.  One may even lay this kiln on its side using the width as the height if inserting crucibles. With a top temperature of 1100 degrees Celcius there is no restriction on technique when using the U24ST. A solidly built kiln that may be positioned anywhere and simply requires a domestic power supply. The U24St is pre drilled in the back wall for insertion of the ceramic pyrometer probe should accurate temperature measurement be required and being positioned in the back wall means that all the actual chamber size can be used for firing techniques.. The up and over door will self support should both hands be used when inserting meshes and stilts. An ideal kiln for all professional and educational uses, the U24St will serve for many, many years.  Available also a full range of spare parts including muffles and insulating bricks.

Special Features

The U24ST enamelling kiln (ST for ‘step switch’) is equipped with a simmerstat which regulates the electricity input thereby maintaining a constant temperature. A red light indicates when power is entering the kiln and the calibration from 1-10 allows a range of temperature control to apply. If left on No.10 power enters uninterrupted and may be used when continuous firings are taking place or techniques which involve the frequent opening of the kiln door.

The St controller is ideal for those working for long periods or for teaching in schools. The controller removes any risk of either over firing the enamels or damaging the kiln through the firing chamber becoming too hot.
